- The course of fire consists of slow fire in three positions: prone, sitting or kneeling, and offhand. Sling use is permitted in prone and sitting positions but not in offhand. Spotting scopes are allowed.
- Shooters will fire up to 5 sighter shots followed by 10 shots for record in each position. Time limits are 10 minutes per stage. All positions include a 3-minute preparation period. A total of 30 shots are scored, with the highest 10 shots on the lower target and all 20 shots on the upper target counting toward the final score.
- Flexibility is allowed for shooters who have difficulty with certain positions, with the option to shoot from an alternate, more challenging position.
- Safety rules apply at all times, including the use of empty chamber indicators (except during prep and shooting), proper muzzle control, and loading only on command. Semi-automatic rifles are limited to a maximum of 5 rounds loaded at a time.
